Hi,
I am a junior in high school and run track. My sophomore year was my first year running. I ran a 4:48 1600m and a 2:07 800m during the season. Since then I haven't gotten into weight training or did XC or gotten any consistent mileage (knew nothing about that stuff) but I was somehow able to run a 2:00 800m and a 51 400m but I have not run an official 1600 yet this season (first one is tomorrow at a big competitive meet)
I really want to get down to around 1:57-1:56 by the end of this season and next season get to 1:54> and get sub 4:30 in the 1600. Any advice because I really want to run collegiate track and think I have a lot of potential in the sport considering I just started and have become a respectable athlete in a year without traditional training. This offseason I will be hitting the weights and running XC but I just want any tips and whether or not you think my goals are attainable.
Sorry for the long read
