Runner at a mid-level DI program. Was good in high school but I keep gaining weight in college. Mileage has been anywhere from 80-110 since being here. Diet kinda went to crap once school started and I started gaining too much muscle mass as well from our lifting routine. I used to be fit and I’d really like to feel that way again. I kinda have been stagnant the past three seasons not really improving too much. I’m absolutely positive it is my weight that is the issue. What can I do to lose weight quickly to have a comeback season during outdoor?
Eat healthy for a long period of time and train hard. That's all you can do. There are no quick fixes, but if you start now, you can cut weight in time for outdoor season.
This is about right. It will take time.
But I do have some suggestions.
-If you drink at all and really want to lose the weight, go ahead and stop.
-I don’t know what you eat now, but I suspect that eating at least 300% more vegetables would do you good.
-No midnight “snacks” that are actually 1000-calorie meals.
-No soft drinks.
-I’d also say to minimize meat consumption, but some people have a hard time with that.
