He needs to not go out in sub 2 hour pace like last year, then maybe he'll have a shot.
It's hard to tell. Both him and Kipchoge aren't getting any younger, but they have both been putting up solid races for years now. I don't think this is the right course for a WR, but I wouldn't be surprised if he runs much faster than last year...or if he doesn't.

Looking back now.. I wonder how in the world Kimetto pulled that off. Aside from one, maybe two strong efforts before Berlin 2014, you'd never expect him to run sub 2:03. So I'm remaining optimistic that Kipsang can do another unexpected run.

Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
