Hi! Newbie runner here with a major dilemma/worry about running my first marathon. My first scheduled marathon, Napa Valley, is coming up on March 4th. Up until a few weeks ago I was following my training plan just fine until I got a knee sprain and got sick which knocked me back for a few weeks. As a result, the longest training run I've completed is 17 miles and I'm freaked out that this lack of experience will cause me major issues during the race since my body doesn't have the experience of finishing 20-23 consecutive miles let alone 26 and I haven't mentally had to push through "the wall". At this point the race is 14 days away. Is it worth trying to cram in a 20 mile run ASAP or would that be counterproductive? Any tips on what to do in the meantime? Any advice from experienced runners/trainers/anyone with knowledge would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
