My new training paces would be about :10-:15 faster/mile across the board. That seems like a big jump only a few weeks before the race that I have been focusing on is here.
1. Go ahead and adjust paces and keep scheduled volume
2. Go ahead and adjust paces, but start scaling back volume a little sooner than my normal taper
3. Adjust paces just a little, maybe :05-:09 faster/mile and keep scheduled volume
4. Don't adjust anything until after my Main Race is over.
I am obviously happy with the adaptations that are taking place. What is the best way to balance Avoiding Plateaus with Avoiding Overtraining?
