I'm a little over 3 months in, but feel like I'm kind of cheating because it's been actually impossible for me to get alcohol where I am. If I had normal access to alcohol, I probably would have slipped up a quite a few times.
Are you posting this from prison?
Deployed?
Does anybody here actually go to AA and find it helpful? I was forced to go to meetings for about 5 weeks and I don't even think I'm an alcoholic. The meetings just made me so sick of hearing about alcohol and hearing everyone blame all of their problems on alcohol that I never want to touch the stuff again. It kind of reminds me of "A Clockwork Orange" when the Alex is forced to watch those horrible videos while listening to Beethoven's 9th and after that he could never listen to it again. Either way I guess the meetings worked because the thought of booze makes me sick and I doubt I will touch the stuff again.
Is drinking, like, once a month okay?
I finally stopped binge drinking. Wouldn't drink by myself or often, but whenever it was a big night out or a good party, went too hard.
Now I've been sticking with 3-4 pints max over the course of a night and it's been going great. You still get loose after 2, but don't have to worry about blacking out. Was considering quitting all together, but that's tough in social situations. Gotta have a drink or two on some date with a girl if you want to get it going.
Def the way to go. Took me so long to actually make the mental shift towards moderation.
Hit 100 days sober at the end of today. Still want to drink myself into oblivion more than ever. Does it ever go away?
Call me a rebel, but every once so often I'll order an ArnoldPalmer and this Friday I'll splurge and get ShameRock Shake at MickeyD's.
I'm not from Utah and don't have multiple wives and a gaggle of annoyingly pretty children.
M.A.G.A. (build the wall, build it tall, and make it see-through too)
I'm 22.4 minutes into my sobriety. Even if I can't legally drive. Go EAGLES
Still staying strong. Getting the usual diet coke at the lounge tonight.

I just now noticed this thread. As somebody who has given Jamin a hard time in the past for his unapologetic drinking and driving, I feel I must say that I think this is a great move, Jamin, I really am pulling for you to stick with this.

In some of the places I have lived over the years 'lounges' are a colloquial word for brothels.
Haven't had a drink in 2018. Fortunately I never developed much of a habit with the stuff even when I was younger. About the only time I ever drink now is on vacation. I will have a rum punch or pina colada after a day of fishing.
Gave it up for Lent...I don't miss it.
Replaced with tasty non-alcoholic drinks like V8 with brunch or soda made from actual sugar or honey (not that HFCS crap). I actually look forward to a couple of bottles of soda with dinner now, it's really weird.
I scored very low on the alcoholic test, but my relationship with alcohol still wasn't the greatest. I genuinely feel the mental health benefits of doing this, though yet to be seen what happens after Lent. Without a doubt though, doing this has changed my perspective on alcohol.
Been to a few happy hours and occasions where a couple of drinks are completely socially acceptable. Just had a ginger ale and got on with being myself; no anxiety about appearing to have had too much to drink.
Bonus is that I've lost at least five pounds with no additional effort!
Another bonus: a bunch of restaurants in my city have some house made non-alcoholic options that are really good!
Quit drinking six years ago. I miss beer because I really enjoyed the taste of it. But if you can manage to cut it out, you just feel better all the time. Worth it.

Is jamin update?
DUI?
Last night I had approximately 1 pint of beer, my first this year. Even that is enough to make my body react negatively. I didn't sleep well and the next day I had mild withdrawal symptoms (eyes tired, body temperature high, blood pressure high, anxiety).
Haven't consumed alcohol ever!!!!!
