After running an indoor mile last week (4:36 which is a full mile PR, although I ran a 4:27 1600 years ago) I took this week to recharge for my next training block. Skipped a lot of days due to the cold as this is the week I'm allowed to skip runs.
M: off
T: off, ski race cancelled
W: 9 w/ 2x3x10" hil sprints, strength after (med ball throw, power snatch, back squat, pull up/lunge/push up, rows/core)
Th: off
F: off
S: 5k classic nordic skiing race. My first time doing a classic technique race and the officials were kind enough to overlook my questionable technique. Came in 1st place because the high schoolers had races later in the day and there was a 20k for the Birkiebeiner folks who normally beat me.
S: Work downhill skiing day... We'll see how this goes :|
Jeremy - Congrats on the new PR. 17:05 is moving!
TheStoneCutter - Thanks for posting last week and glad to hear you're back training. For those who are newer to the thread StoneCutter was the kind of person who would get up at 5 am on Sunday to get in his long run so he could spend more time with his family. The encouragement you and people like GarbageDisposal, etc. have given me over the years is really appreciated.
Look at a stone cutter hammering away at his rock, perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred-and-first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not the last blow that did it, but all that had gone before.
