Ultra runner here.. I ran an 80 mile week (including a 40 mile long run) before my road marathon debut. Ran a 3:03 without any marathon specific training
Everyone's results may vary, but I would say to not taper as much as you would think.
If you're running 70MPW, maybe back down to 30-40, but still try to run every day.
Race week - I'd say 10-15 miles
