I'm trying to challenge myself in a fun way - so I'm coming up with a formula to measure bench press and mile time with a single number.
Right now I'm thinking "seconds under 5 minutes" + "2 times pounds over 200 on the bench press for four reps."
I'm trying not to favor on too much. After all if you don't multiply the bench press, a 3:55 miler would get a score of 65 without touching the bench. Similarly, there are guys who can bench 300, but touch a 5 minute mile.
I know it's a strange thing to think of, but does anyone have another equation to consider?
