Is there an appropriate half tight to wear while running? My wife has strongly suggested that I never wear half tights because it leaves nothing to the imagination. Is there a more supportive half tight that I might be able to wear?

Yes. It's called "running briefs."
I've never understood people that wear shorts/tights/whatever without running briefs. How can you deal with your junk flopping around with every stride? Or worse, plastered to the side of your leg?
Also, running briefs solves the "too much to the imagination" issue.
I can't find any. And when you are on Viagra like I am, wearing half tights can be embarrassing at times.

Well...geez, it can't be any worse than those world class sprinters that are on TV being introduced at the startline of major events. The camera pans down on their tights where millions of viewers are watching. ?
There's a few New Balance-sponsored world class women who might differ.

First off, if you're a small fry like me that's not a problem. Secondly, you could be dealing with aerodynamics if you race on the track and wear running briefs over your tights where tenths of seconds matter. And lastly, I once wore running briefs over my tights all the time when a nice looking girl at a race told me I looked like a "ballerina." ?

Over your tights?

It works for Superman.
I can’t wear half tights because the head and some shaft come out the bottom down near my knee. I need to go capri style to keep the snake contained.

My fault on clarification. I wore regular running shorts over my tights that made me look like a ballerina. However, I tried running briefs underneath and it's get too tight in the hip area and generally it's uncomfortable. Honestly, it's the dudes that are well-endowed that have more of a problem with this.

???
NO SHORTS over half tights, ever. Have you ever seen an east african wearing shorts over tights?
Be proud of the package. If protection is needed, wear it underneath.
Generally speaking, if it has a drawstring, it is meant to be outerwear. If it doesn’t, it is underwear.
My Pearl Izumi Ultras have an extra bit of fabric that acts like a brief in the front, so I wear those commando. I wear a second thin boxer brief layer under my Nike Tech and Filaments.
Half tights > Shorts
The only time I run in shorts instead of HTs is when I will be meeting my team (I coach HS), which is the majority of the time.

No...but I've seen Europeans & Americans wear shorts over tights. And it's great in the colder weather. ?

I wear running briefs under my half tights and I wear half tights for three reasons:
1. They're very comfortable
2. When it's cold I can wear them down to temps in the mid 20's (I prefer them over full tights
3. I have asthma and during a race I can put my inhaler in the little pocket in the back
My ex-wife and now my girlfriend say they leave nothing to the imagination. And, I'm Italian so that adds to the issue down there.
And, my junk doesn't flop around- it fills the area up.
Just wear a pair of running shorts under the half-tights. Solves the problem and keeps you warm as intended.
My local Adidas retail outlet had OG samples of long cotton tee that reach the thighs at front and are even longer behind. Made of a heavy cotton fabric.

Never seen here in Europe. It belongs to puritan America.
That's what I try to do.

Maybe among cyclists. I'm based in Paris and I regularly see the new wave of hobby joggers with the basketball shorts over tights look (men, of course)
Having said that, I also see just as many hobby joggers (I use this term not as a derogative but more as a descriptive) feel comfortable enough in more performance gear like half tights and tights without covering the goods
In the US, I think in general, hobby joggers are significantly less willing to go straight tights, which is reserved for more serious runners (this is also being loosely used, not necessarily "elites" but at the least those who'd find themselves on the LetsRun forum)
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
