All should have openings posted soon unless they promote within!
Dont forget Lindenwood as well.
Reporting from Eugene, and the word on the track is that the Texas AD (former AD at Rice) is bringing in Jim Bevan.
You heard it here, first!

No chance of that
I am the dad of a current recruit and I am following this thread because some of the schools on my son’s list are the subject of coach changes, rumors or real. I think I speak for a lot of people trying to follow along - it would be very helpful if posters didn’t use so my acronyms for schools (many of which are the same eg OSU?) and it would be helpful if you list the current school/position of the coach you are talking about. That is all. Thanks.
Well if you are a OSU fan I am sure Dave is headed to UW and no chance in a very hot place that : Bevan, Hayes or Vig would ever get the Texas job so sleep easy tonight.
I can tell you every coach here wants a “better” job. Very few coaches, especially assistants, want to move. It’s a little sad really.
Do any xc/track coaches have multi-year contracts? Assistants?

You should advise your kid to attend a school based on other factors aside from who the coach would be. Coaches can leave at any time, your kid may not be able to...
Actually, coaches hardly ever leave.
This is a unique year for sure.

Case in point : OSU - you talking Ohio State, Oklahoma State, or Oregon State. Please be clear. Who are Dave, Beven, Hayes, and Vig (Princeton guy?)? Carry on.
This is an A+B conversation, so C your way out.
If you have to ask who these people are why do you care? Obviously, your kid wasn’t being recruited by these people if you don’t know their names...

My kid is being recruited to 3 schools where rumor has the head coach on their way out. The contact has been with the distance assistant as is normal. I am concerned the assistant would not be retained if the head changes. The possible replacements (Gary’s, Vig, et al) are very important to me but without the full names or context, they remain a mystery. Got it? Carry on.

Agreed. The biggest concern is starting all over with a new coach when we had already established a connection and path to get into the schools he wants to attend.

Sure. Not asking for your help. Only asking for more clarity and context in the posts so we newbies can follow along and get more out of the conversation. As you were.
If your son is a senior he missed the boat; if he is a junior there is time for the dust to settle.
As for following along, you will get nothing but push back asking for clarification. Just use google. It is not that hard to piece together.
