Blutreich just signed a new 3 year deal. New sprint coach will be director in waiting and the rest of staff should start looking for new jobs.

Yep. One big name is going to ASU. Another familiar ex pro will be announced soon. The rest are new bloods.

I agree Big Ten distance coaches will rejoice if KD stays put. A&M would be a great gig for the mid-d coach, but he’s comfortable with the pressure-less jobin columbus.

Why is the Ohio State job so pressure-less? Don’t all P5 coaches have a lot of pressure on them?

seems like he gets a free pass because he's an olympian and has had moderate success with big talents, like lomong, who should probably be better anyway. he knows diddlysquat about distance running and trains everyone like an 800 meter runner, so if tamu wanted him itd probably be a more logical fit. tosu has never really invested too much $$ in distance tho so maybe they just don't care if their head xc coach doesn't bother to show up for xc practices and makes up workouts on the spot. like someone said before talented athletes don't always translate into successful coaches, and kd seems to be a prime example.

This is just not true, none of you know KD. I ran for him at LSU and I developed under his system. I walked on at 2:19 for 800, and graduated with a 2:02 Pr. He isn’t going to hold your hand he expects a lot out of his athletes, most complain because they’re soft and want someone to hold their hand or give them extra attention. If you match his level of commitment he will give you his all, but he expects you to be highly motivated and work hard. A lot of the runners at LSU were walk on material but most of them didn’t have the drive to he a good runner they had other more important obligations. So if he knew that about you he would simply overlook you because he felt it would be a waste of his time. He’s an amazing coach he just doesn’t have patience to babysit any runners

I agree. Plenty of athletes have developed and run well for him. I think he can have great success at the mid-d events, just not in Columbus. However, I’d be surprised if he were to leave. Someone else had stated an Olympian not Robinson was getting the role.

Thanks for the reply, Morgan. What 800 time did you run your freshman redshirt year, just out of curiosity. That would be 2013......in case you had forgotten.

What’s going on with all these mid major positions??

I hate to keep posting about this with it being an apparent done deal and all, but what is taking UNC so long to announce Andrea? She’s already been confirmed to leave ISU.

Could there be anything that came up on a background check? If not, I wonder if ISU would take her back if she gets tired of the waiting game.

She won't be officially announced until at least Aug 13. Apparently UNC HR is a cluster.
