90% of Athletic Directors do not knock on anyone's door for a track and cross country coach. They post the jobs and wait for people to apply! Most AD's do not know anything about our sport, especially at the DII level and below. There are exceptions at the big time schools, but those are few and far between! I was a HS coach for 9 years before getting my first full time college head coaching position. I had a lot of success coaching HS and it was a good transition to go to a smaller NAIA school to help build a new program. There is a lot to learn when you go from HS to college and coaching is a lot more than just showing up to practice at 3;30 p.m. everyday and putting runners through a workout. So someone with more college coaching experience, no matter how many national champions they have coached is more appealing than a HS coach who will have a bigger learning curve at the college level in things other than practice. Budgeting, traveling, compliance, etc. But I would say that there are a lot of very good HS coaches out there that would probably make great college coaches.
Hearing that Benji is now out at University of San Francisco.
Is this true?? Will this job post?
So who goes to Iowa State women XC? The cupboards are pretty full
Bam! Pow! Chuboom! That's what I like to see.
Why do we care about these social media posts? If we want updates on that BS we'll follow them ourselves, thanks.

Haven’t heard this but wouldn’t be totally off as Wetli was at Iowa State prior to USF and was a big factor in their recruiting. I could see him replacing AGM there but USF is loaded this year as well and it would have to be a cost of living thing I would assume if he made the move.
Nope, Ben Gall is there

When he left Cal Baptist, the announcement said he was leaving coaching and joining Northwest Nazarene as a faculty member.
So maybe, maybe not.

Ben was named Head XC Coach at NNU. This will be in addition to his teaching duties.
Shortly thereafter, Spatz stepped down to take the head job at Spokane CC. It is his previous job (Head TF) that is now open at NNU.
