I wonder if Wetmore is regretting chasing the kid off. They really could have used him. He would have excelled on that course.

shut up rocha this is clearly you
Excelled by placing around 130th? Sure
Did anyone attend that clinic where Rocha taught high school kids how to never make it to the NCAAs?
When CU decided to redshirt Dressel, this became a rebuilding year for CU. They will be good again next year. Sometimes coaches drive kids off. Other times kids don't adapt and drop off due to their own actions. Wetmore would have no reason to "drive him off". They do need to evaluate their training and determine why their men's team dropped off so much at nationals (their women's program ran as well as they could have hoped at nationals).

From what I've heard, it was a massive relief not to have him around the team.

Actually, yes he would, due to the conflicting stories between him and the ex, as mentioned in the other thread.
Wetmore believed the gf, due to the more serious charge (whether true or not).
I can understand Wetmore being in a very tough situation with that, and probably would have done the same thing,
however would have talked with both of them individually in detail prior to making a decision, which perhaps he did to.
The loss of Rocha definitely hurt the team, and the whole situation is sad.
*do.

Sorry, you heard wrong. He was well ahead of Herrera in training/fitness and look where Herrera finished.

Training and fitness don't mean a thing if you're too much of a wuss to run a good race.
