Hey everyone! I'm thinking of starting to train more competitively for the 400m and I'd love your thoughts...
I ran a 51-second 400m very early in my grade 12 season before pulling a hamstring in training and never breaking that time. After I graduated I left competitive running behind, but now I'm considering taking it up again.
It's been 3 years since then and I'd say I've maintained an average level of fitness, but with more of a scattered routine of working out and going for short runs. I've gained about 30 pounds in college since I graduated.
Do you guys think a one-year training program would be able to bring me to a sub-50 time if I committed to doing whatever it takes for one year? What kind of training should I be doing to bring myself back to that level of fitness?
