So I want to go to Boston this Winter to see the World Indoor Championships. The problem is I live in west Michigan and neither of my parents will be able to take time off work to come with me and none of my friends like me or running enough to come with. So I need to convince my parents to let me miss a day of school, fly to Boston, navigate the city by myself, stay somewhere for two nights, and somehow feed myself as well. My tentative plan thus far is to fly in on Friday night, stay somewhere close to the Reggie Lewis Arena, go to the meet the next day and fly home on Sunday. I've found plane tickets at reasonable times for $187 and tickets to the meet are $22. Any advice on 1) how to keep my total budget under $300 and 2) how to convince my parents to let me go. I'm the oldest child so they're less lenient with me than they would be if I was the 2nd of 3rd kid.
