For the past 2 weeks I've had a dull feeling of tightness and being uncomfortable in my left hip. In addition to this, my left hip flexor isn't the greatest right now. I don't feel it when I run or walk at all, just when I have to lift my leg up high, like to step into the tub/shower, it feels very week and hurts slightly. My, what I assume is, SI joint on my left side also bothers me at times.
I assume this is all connected somehow, I am just struggling to figure out what leads to what, and where to start.
My range of motions is still pretty good on my left hip. I would even say my right hip is more tight than the left.
I don't currently do any core as I have in the past, and I am imbalanced in that my front core is overly developed and my oblique's and my back are not.
I currently am running 80 miles per week, two workouts a week with a long run. I wear Nike Zoom Vomero 12s. I foam roll before and after runs. I also do dynamic warmups before every run which include lunges, A, B, and C skips, etc. And if it helps, I am a forefoot striker and supinate quite a bit which results in the outside of my foot/toes striking the ground first.
With the exclusion of the occasional 4 mile morning run when I am doubling, I run exclusively on dirt and gravel roads. They are considerably hilly, though.
Can anyone help me to address these issues?
