No one hates rupp. No one. If he was a fast marathoner, he would be appreciated, but he isn't, and that is the problem.
After what Ryan Hall did, and what KK did, no one is going give Rupp a pass for winning slow races, and running 2:09 on a fast course ( especially after he stated that he was going to go after 2:06)
Mo farah is the same thing. Mo ran slow races, and coming after Bekele, Lets run wasn't and isnt going to accept that.
If you run like crap, no matter if you win or lose, you will be called out. Period
Bekele does not have a lot of marathon wins, but people love him because they know he is going to RACE. same thing with Kipchoge and Kipsang.
it was the same thing with Ryan Hall as well . He never won a marathon, but he raced like a Kenyan and always showed up to race....
And then Rupp comes in with the snail, scripted races? No. You said you can run fast, then run fast. And go after the elites.
He could win dozens of marathons, but if they are all around 2:08 and 2:09. He will not be rewarded for it, and will always live in the shadows of Ryan Hall, KK, and possibly even Meb
