For about two weeks, I've had very bad pain in the front of my hip, and a bit down my quad. Here is a description:
- Pain is worse in the morning.
- Pain is very bad at beginning of run, but warms up nicely.
- Took one week completely off, almost no difference.
- Basically no pain at the end of the run nor the hour or so afterwards. But the day after a hard run (especially in the morning), pain is bad.
- No pain when just sitting / lying there.
- Negative fulcrum test (ie, no pain when sitting on horizontal surface and pressing on leg).
- Positive jump test (ie, lots of pain jumping on just one leg)
- Pain when sitting in a chair and lifting the leg (ie, taking the foot off the ground, both hip and knee at 90 degree angles).
- Pain when lying on back (hip and knee straight).
I've got a marathon in 12 days and am in the best shape of my life. If I have a stress fracture, I don't want to run (of course). But if it's not a fracture, I can make it through the last few workouts and race.
