It's insane how the incorrect running shoes can create injuries, but they do. That is why trying out a pair of running shoes can be a frustrating experience.
Once I buy a pair of running shoes, I test them on the treadmill for about 6-7 miles. That is the real test. If I feel any type of knee pain, back pain, or hip pain, I send them back. If I feel foot fatigue of slight discomfort in the foot, that's more of a break-in situation, so I usually keep them
I tried out the Hupana, but I felt elevated as hell, which created hip discomfort. My running shoes have to be closer to the ground, between 4-6mm is my sweet spot. And sometimes the cushioning is so bouncy that it puts a lot of impact on the hips and knees. The Hupana felt that way.
