Coming from cycling I'm used to using Friels fitness minus freshness to gauge "peaking" as long-term avg training stress minus short term avg training stress. I've attempted to do the same using Daniels VDOT points and was wondering if anyone else does the same. I've basically used 28-day weekly avg VDOT minus 7-day VDOT, which is looking like it should be +50 (150 28-day peak tapers down to 100 and race week points is 50) on race day. If anyone else does this what balance do you target and is 100 post taper fitness seem ok?
