You need to think about the prettiest girl in your school, and the realize she doesn't know you exist, and you'll probably go your whole life without even knowing a cheerleader type of woman. Think about this a short time, then run on "Pure Hate".

It's called nerves.
You may always feel a tad anxious throughout your high school running and perhaps therafter.
I know I do, even if it is a fun run.
Over time you will be able to get a handle on it.
What may help you is to focus on your goal. And over time confidence will seep in.

Everybody on the starting line feels that way, that's why we test ourselves. Focus on the clock and once the gun goes off, it all goes away.

Read about David and Goliath and what David did to prepare and calm himself. He needed stones for his sling. Where did he go? Imagine what he heard and felt there. He stayed there long enough until he had his stones and his mind was ready.
