Why are they sending out confirmations at 9pm in Boston on a Friday night. Are you sure it wasn't emailed earlier?

it was a little before 8pm EST, and I'd imagine it's crunch time over there right now so things get done at odd hours.

Were you BQ-10 or BQ-20?
BQ-10. Don't know if it matters but to the minute BQ-19.

I'm BQ-21. I think it's normal for Wednesday signup to get confirmed by today. What isn't normal is for people on Monday to still be waiting.
If you signed up on Monday, time to worry, IMO. Either the RD isn't answering emails or they lost your application?
Now I'm concerned.
I was BQ-10: 2:58 as M35-39.
Applied first thing in the morning on Wed Sept 13.
No news :(
This is what they say to everyone.
"Verification time varies from submission to submission. Your reference ID holds your spot until we can complete your registration submission. We ask for your patience while we work through the process. Thank you."

What's going on this year?
Mike Rossi got in with a BQ + 20, you'll be fine, unless you told the truth.
just my two cents wrote:
It will depend on the quality of the applicant pool and the # of bibs the BAA is giving out to qualified runners compared to charity.
Last year they quietly upped the number of charity bibs (without increasing total bib #s sold) which is why the qualifying cutoff went up.
Kind of sucks but - the BAA needs to show continued growth in the "Fundraising" component because it adds to the marketing value.
that analysis is utterly wrong

Last year the qualifying cutoff was less than the year before. It didn't go up.
I believe the number of bibs they give to the towns went up last year, not charity bibs.
According to this link, the number of BQ times accepted was about the same as for 2015. In 2016 they upped it to 24k. I'd bet they keep it the same as 2015 and 2017.

exactly... demand for 2016 was exceptionally high
I am still waiting for notice with my BQ-10 :(
Anyone else apply in that category and hear back? And what about the BQ-20s?

Is that real? Don't they announce the BQ-5 all at once?

only 3:09 here, but I'm over 50, so should be ok. the real question with a time like mine is: am I going to make it into the first wave?? now that's a nail biter. I heard the first corral in the 2nd wave is actually not bad, but hey, it's 2nd wave, the message is clear
This. I'm slow, but I really wanted to make wave 1 last year. I wanted to run before the scream tunnel goes hoarse. I squeaked in, and I think the standard will be about the same in 2018.

Anyone else get something like this?
We have received your registration submission for the 2018 Boston Marathon. Prior to acceptance, the information which you submitted must be validated against your qualifying performance.
