Starting from 2015 we have seen a new breed of Kenyan women take on to the roads and destroy records left, right especially on the 10K to half marathon. Women from other nations have been turned almost entirely into spectators. Why this all of a sudden? Is this a tip of what is to come? If that is the case then the women in the rest of the world should move over to other events or sports altogether.
In the 10K, Paula Radcliff's world record of 30:21 had stood for so many years without anyone coming within 10 seconds except for two women in Isabella Ochichi and drug cheat Asmae Leghzaoui who both broke 30:30. Even the great Tirunesh Dibaba could only run 30:30. And then this year two women, Joyciline Jepkosgei and Violah Jepchumba split 30:04 and 30:05 respectively enroute to the half marathon! That is almost 20 seconds faster than Radcliff's record and the two still had more than 11K to go to the end of the half marathon. Then this week or past weekend that 10K record was further decimated to 29:43 by Joyciline with another athlete Fancy Chemutai (relatively unknown) running 30:06 improving from a 30:28 she ran in June this year. Another athlete Sheila Chepkirui finished third in 30:28. So I decided to google who these athletes are and here they are:

All these women except Violah Jepchumba and maybe Sheila have masculine looks but of particular interest is Fancy Chemutai. She looks very masculine to me from head to toe! Her improvement from 30:28 to 30:06 in less 3 months is staggering. She is also new in that she has no results before 2017. I bet my last dollar this "lady" will be running low 29 or even 28 in the next two years. I know I will be criticized but I can't help stating what is obvious to the eye and especially when we have not spared Caster Semenya.
