I'm a 60 year male in pretty good shape. Last autumn, I ran a 5:08 mile on a treadmill. Since it took awhile for the treadmill to get up to speed, I suspect my actual ending pace was a bit higher than that. Mostly, I run longer distances (currently training for a Boston Qualifying attempt). I didn't do much short distance training when I ran the 5:08 mile, just a few weeks of gradually setting the treadmill faster, however it is by far the fastest mile I've run in my life. I'd really like to participate in a 400 meter relay next year--any ideas on what my goal time should/could be?
