We don't know. Maybe they sell fake petition signers there or people are just bored there. Anyway not enough people are signing up. Numbers are not really going up anymore.
As soon as they have 2555 petitions signed Guinness will change their minds.

Why not just ask them?
Hey, Norwegians! Why are you signing this petition in support of elite uktra treadmill fraud Amy Hughes? Is it because of brexit?
No, why?
Norway is not even in the European Union.

That was my point, some have suggested Britain wants to copy the out-but-in model that Norway. Maybe Norway doesn't like that and is punishing Britain by signing the petition out of spite.

I'm busy organising an ultra distance race between Rob Young's house and the Amy Hughes residence. As with all such events, I need quite a few volunteers to help out, so do let me know if you are available.
So far I've got Dave Reading doing the timekeeping and Mike Rossi on checkpoint 1. Rosie Ruiz will take charge of checkpoint 2 (which is in the same place as checkpoint 3). Kaiha Bertollini has kindly offered to be official race photographer, Lance Armstrong and Justin Gatlin will be supervising doping control and Robert Garside is certifying the course.
The provisional date for the race is April 1st 2018 and we hope to have all the results published by March 25th.
I just need help coming up with a suitable name for the event...
Ohh, I am sure Dave will hate this.

It's a scam - names, email, etc taken from a list and uploaded. Like to know who's doing it though.

This guy Joakim seems to know the truth, but signed it anyway.

What will happens is that LR sleuths will find proof she didn't do the run, and she'll deny and her boyfriend will attack the charity and it "shouldn't matter" because they're doing great things with their money (allegedly.) Her feelings > our facts.
And then someone will while about charity fraud and then never do anything about it.

Are you confusing people on this forum with tax or law enforcement officials?

So who are you suggesting does something about it?
The Amy hatred here is endemic. Here is how an unbiased professional source (Ironman.com) reported her horror at Guinness'es refusal.
http://eu.ironman.com/triathlon/news/articles/2017/07/the-monday-round-up-7.31.aspxOof! Imagine this: You log 520 miles running on a treadmill in a single week, aiming to crack the Guinness World Record. You pass the current record mark of 517.63 miles, and collapse in exhaustion and elation. And then, a technical detail derails your feat. That’s exactly what ultra runner Amy Hughes did last September—but after months of processing, Guinness recently denied her record attempt due to improper witnessing.

There's a small amount of hatred and malice on here, but most are just questioning things with a lot of valid critical thinking. It's not hatred to want some integrity in the sport. Amy is claiming something extraordinary for a LOT of personal gain. Some of us see that as wrong if done under false pretences.

They'll need sustenance as they finish, so I'll be running the Sausage Roll Refreshment Stall assisted by my good friends Dustin Brooks and Michael Sphincter from Skinz.
Looking forward to seeing you all there and selling you some of my legendary sausage rolls, all monies raised to go to charity of course ;-) .
Rob.
