I'm 14 and play football very regularly. About 2 months ago I had 2 consecutive matches the day after each other and I play full 80 mins in both of them. Near the end of the second match I started to feel a slight pain in my upper hamstring but played the rest (about 10 mins). On the bus ride home my leg felt a bit sore but I thought it was maybe just a bit overused and it wud be back to normal within a day or two. The day after I rested and on the Friday we had a match. In the warm up My leg didn't feel so good and I told my coach he said to give it a try. Within ten minutes the pain had got bad and I had to come off. I put ice on it while I was watching the rest of the match. 2 weeks later I went to a trial and played a 30 minute match. When I was mid-stride my upper hamstring had a pulling sensation so I immediately came off. After that if I exercise hard on my leg it is sore after the exercise Is over and my upper hamstring has felt weak and tender. Two months later I can exercise on my leg but I always have to ice it after. I have been to two different physios. The first Said that it was growing pains as I have had a big growth spurt in the last year and he gave me muscle strengthening exercises and told me to build up my core. The second said that it could've came from an injury to the back and it was also muscle imbalance. I thought if I had ever hurt my back and I remembered that 3 months before the first injury during a match I got kneed in the lower back and after the match my back was sore for a day or two but then the pain went away. The second physio looked at my posture and done fire-cupping on the left side of my back. He also gave me muscle strengthening exercises, he said it cud also possibly be growing pains and told me to start doing 100 metre runs and to build it up. I personally thought it was hamstring tendinitis but now I have no idea what it could be.
