Really a dangerous attitude for this young phenom to have. I don't blame him, but it disappoints me. Semis of U20 euros:

That'll bite him in the butt one day.
I can't wait to race him and win.

Agreed.

Like Saturday if he doesn't win the final
He can try that with Europeans, but he wouldn't have medalled at the u18s in Nairobi.
hOLY Crap. That was a 55.14. Ugh, I suck.

Maybe because many of them are actually 25?
I find his confidence hot.
MAGA
Well, it was a dumb and obnoxious move given that this was only a heat, and the Euro U20 championships isn't the biggest deal in the world to begin with. He's an annoying 16-year-old, oh well. Other than that, not a big deal.
Maybe he should watch his DL race from last month to humble himself up a bit. Sure he still ran fast for his age (for a white dude), but he was off the back and not even in the picture after 100 meters.
reminds me of a young Ovett
he's surely also taking a cue from Bolt
Not what I would want to see, but I can't blame him.
Didn't someone do that to Webb in heats at USA's a few years ago?

How many times have we seen these teenage phenoms always come a cropper in their early twenties? One day he will hit the wall, his confidence will go and other people his age will start passing him.
Holy Shit. That was a 55 second last lap and he was jogging?! Lifes just unfair. Thats only 6 seconds of his PB to, which he can 0robably smash ina race like the tracktown series based of this. Wow. Also I think he was tryimg to get the crowd excited, not taugnting his other competitors. It's still arrogant, but it's not the worse attitude, more Boltesque.

Yeah, I like Ovett but he got way too arrogant in 1980, his I LOVE U stuff must have really fired him up Coe for the 1500m, he tried celebrating in a race straight after Moscow and got beaten on the line.
Bolt and Val Adams are the only 2 athletes I can remember that dominated junior levels and the same at senior. Though in Bolt's case it was a 5 year gap.
Ingebrightsen's problem is he might not have the speed when he is older that someone his age who runs 800m might currently be developing. His body is still filling out.
So confidence is bad now? Who wants to be a winner anyway?
Entertaining. Thanks for posting.

Yeah he's 16. Just remember how annoying 16 year olds are

He is only 16. He might never place this high after 20 or so. Let him have this moment
