So I am joining xc as a freshmam in highschool. I did track and field in middle school doing the 800m with PR - 3:03. I know this is not a the best, but I improved a lot from 7-8th. From being able to sprint at the end to being in the top 6 of a 800m race. The high school track and field. coach asked me to join xc and I would have anyway. In October of 2016, I ran a 5k with a time of 37 minutes. Now I run the distance of a 5k with 34 minutes. I am not too worried about time because there is preseason (July) pratices and then season pratices (August), which I will attend.
How much miles should a freshman run before daily practices start? I run 3 miles should I bump it up to 4 even being a freshman?
