Are they running clockwise, or counterclockwise?
That's a lot of laps. Even more than it would take in a standard 400m track. Do you think anyone will get lapped in this race? Do you think it would be possible to come back from getting lapped and win?
This will be the first time someone comes back from being lapped since Tom Longboat beat Alf Shrubb 100 years ago at MSG.
Why?
From the event website:
First three finishers in all age groups will be immediately transported to Massachusetts General Hospital for free orthopedic surgery to repair the joint damage.
I wonder if it will be eligible to be a Boston Qualifier?
They can suck it...... 5 grand......f off
This is just as bad as fundraising for the Boston Marathon. F them. Out of that $5k how much actually goes to the charity?
Who counts the laps? Couldn't someone cheat and be like "I'm done" when they've only ran 100 or something?
The sad thing is that they will have shortage of people that want to run this.

Fixed my own post.

Let's see - $250K in revenue for the foundation. There will unlikely be any significant sponsors paying for any part of the organization/administration of this race because there are only 50 people and it's basically going to equate to a non-competitive look at me fun run (you're facing at least 3 90 degree turns and a softer turn every "lap" meaning you have 336 hard turns in total....no thank you).
How much do you think DMSE is going to charge to manage this one? 50K? You'll have the timing vendor, registration vendor, food/beverage/medical. Police and security. I just can't imagine that this event makes a ton of money when all is done?
The number of money grab "novelty" races is getting annoying.
A 6 hour cutoff.
So 90% of LR would not be able to finish.
Sounds terrible. My sons and I ran a 5K at the Redskins stadium last month. Basically you ran this serpentine path back and forth in a huge parking lot for nearly 3 miles before turning into the stadium to finish on the 50 yard line. Worst possible 5K course I could imagine, but somewhat fun because of the hype and pageantry...NFL players and cheeleaders cheering you on, marching bands, finish on the field with finish line simulcast to the jumbotron, etc.

According to these guys - yes. Altho, I doubt anyone will since it sounds horrible - red dust, 112 laps, etc...
http://findmymarathon.com/race-detail.php?zname=Fenway%20Park%20MarathonYeppers. Certified according to this article.
"The Fenway Marathon will be USATF-certified, and a trial run will be held in the summer to measure the route. A marathon will require approximately 112 laps around the warning track."
I think they should have them run the bases for a marathon.
By GPS, the inside lip of the warning track measures 370 meters. Cutting the tangents, its 367 meters.
When the certification measurement occurs, one is looking at approximately 115 laps.

No , because there is a ten inch drop from the pitching mound .
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
