What is it with Brits who scam charities and cheat in marathons?

It's like a British comedy, except much more entertaining.

It is odd that Ed Parker sponsored him after the event and left a cryptic remark about finishing time:

Well done. I'd love to have done it 1hr 1min faster!!

Ed's time was 4:45, somebody called Clare Sloan finished in 3:34.

The plot thickens. Is Andy pretending to be Clare, or is Clare pretending to be Andy?

Is Clare Sloan his wife or sister? I can't find Andy mentioning her name anywhere else. And I especially like this Tweet from Andy:

Andy's pretending to be Clare, probably has more contacts for money raising purposes than Clare and as usual with most of these 'scams' you just have to follow the money.

It's very odd that he wrote the whole Just Giving page saying HE is going to run it instead of HER. And what is with not even mentioning anything about her on his Twitter page when he tweets about everyone else. Still something very odd going on.

Let me postulate about what seems to have happened here. Clare Sloan signed up for a charity bib that requires here to raise £5000 or whatever the amount is or else she has to pay the remainder. Coming up to London Marathon 2017, she realizes she is short money and on April 9th, 2017, she creates that Just Giving page with Andy Sloan. With Andy's permission, he lets her impersonate as him because he could easily spam "giving" people on his private Facebook for donations.

Notice some of the same names appearing as were in the scammer Dave Reading's thread, Dunerunner, TrailMagazine, wonder if Mark Hewlett, Nicky Gilkes, Joe the Driver, etc appear anywhere?

Nice speculation but she's wearing an RNLI charity vest and fundraising for that charity:

If her singlet is anything to go by she may have been raising money for the RNLI, she has their emblem on it and from her photos you can pick up the last six words as something 'eboats'.

Looks like Andy's kids turned into boats. Magical.

I found the London Marathon results for Andy's brother that he said ran it in a 3:08. It is from 2009. I'm trying to see if that "Clare" ran in other races before. One thing is for sure, Andy has a lot of explaining to do.

I found the Instagram account of our Clare Sloan with positive picture ID of her with her 7243 London Marathon race number. But I don't see any pictures of Andy or their babies on her account and she looks more like a single girl. So I'm think she is a sister or cousin of Andy's. It is still fraud for Andy Sloan and Ed Parker to knowingly falsify who they are fundraising for.
