Wassup guys, I was wondering if you guys could help me or point me in the right direction to a training guide so that I can run under 2 mins for an 800M.
I'm a freshman in college and haven't trained since high school senior year, May 2016. In May, I ran a 50.3 second 400 and exactly 2:00.01 for the 800M (my Personal Bests). I decided not to run this year in college bc I was tired of running (we have a love hate relationship) but now I regret that decision. For context, I only ever ran my junior and senior year of high school in my life. So I improved dramatically in ~1.5 years.
I want to run for my school which is D1 and actually a good running school. Apparently the coach only takes 400M runners that run sub 50 (and Redshirts the others that are on the fence but have potential)
But since I already missed this year of running I'd rather not Redshirt next year. I need to get my 800 under 2 flat (preferably around 1:55) and a sub 50 400. My hope is that I can go from no training to sub 2 min 800 by the start of next track season (roughly 9-10 months)
