Hello,
To make a long story short, I've got three weeks to sharpen up for an 800m at a college invitational. I'm self-coached for the most part, but have some weight and track facilities available for use.
Throughout HS I was a speed athlete; 48.xx 400m, 38.1 300m hurdler. I've put on a little mileage in the last year and have done some longer workouts geared towards the 800/mile. In the past few months, however, the distance decreased and speed increased. I'm worried I don't have the endurance for a fast 800m.
Right now, I'm in about 49 high, 50 low 400 shape, 1:53-1:55 high 800 shape. Are there any good sharpening workouts you have to help my speed endurance before the race? Or should I just taper off slowly until race day (it's last race of season for me). Thanks!
