For some reason I can't remember my races after running. It's almost like when you have a dream and you remember having it but can't recollect the dream itself. I always warming up, getting on the line, hearing the gun go off, crossing the line ect. but it always seems as if no matter the race distance the race itself always disappearso from my memory. When I think back to all of my races I can only remember the start and the finish. Does anyone else experience this?
I'm 46 and remember almost every race I ran since 1987.
I remember all the details of each PR.
Well I remember the time I ran and the name of pretty much each race, but it's almost like I go into a trance during the middle of the race and don't come out of it until I finish.
same here, but usually i can at the very least remember a few turns or straightaways, and definitely the finishing sprint.

what exactly are you hoping to remember?
Typically the only things that I can recall later are: conversations I have just before the start or sometimes with other runners during a marathon, people I pass late in the race, seeing spectators that I know, or sometimes passing a particular landmark. But most of the other details are quickly a blur.
I've always felt that after a few minutes of a race effort the brain disconnects something, it stops recording everything in the memory. It's like a garmin, that can record you position continuously or just every second. When you are suffering in a race it looks like the brain prefers to stop recording everithing with every detail. Thats why you come back to the next race probably
