Hi. What is the recommended way to lost weight quickly, diet aside. More Mileage? or HIIT workouts?
How many miles do you need to run a week to achieve weight loss?
I am a 25 yr old female.

CrossFit
High mileage always works. You should be running at least 100mpw. Most slim people here are running 175+ mpw.

To be serious, in my experience it's extremely hard to lose weight without cutting dietary intake. I admit I've never tried running 175+ mwp, which would surely lead to crippling injuries (not to mention my inability to spend that many hours per week running). But I can easily gain weight on 70 mwp if I don't watch my diet.
My advice is start by cutting any junk out of your diet. If that doesn't work, gradually reduce portion size.
I have seen studies that show that a fair amount of calorie burning integrated over your waking hours can be achieved by just "fidgeting" a lot, i.e. not actually "exercising" but trying never to sit still for very long. If it's practical for you to incorporate a lot of low-level moving around into your job and other parts of your daily routine, that might be worth a try.

Thank you. I am going to try this. I do sit quite a bit at work, admittedly.
HIIT
Do you drink alcohol?
Short answer: you don't.
Long answer: if you greatly increase your training load you may lose some weight and maintain it. But you're not doing this and this is much harder than fixing your diet.

Cat fight!
No I was running 20 miles a day and still didn't lose the 8 pounds I wanted.
Add up all the fat you eat in a week and assume 90% of that is stored on your body. Fat you eat is the fat you wear. Dairy blows you up too and animal protein.
Sorry, diet is the way to go. If you refuse (or you're already on a diet), then interval training.
For me, just cutting out junk food and not stuffing myself at restaurants worked wonders. I never set out a complicated diet plan or anything.
Abs are made in the kitchen!

This is one of the real hazards of seeking advice on anonymous message boards, you get advice this incredibly stupid.
I would think diuretics and bulimia would be the easiest way without changing diet.
if you keep the same diet then more mileage does work for losing weight. The thing is you probably don't have many miles to add without getting injured. So mixing in other exercises/activities on top of some more mileage probably is a better way to go if you want to lose weight rather quickly and safely (avoid too much pounding and also work on strengthening your other muscles than those for running alone).

More water and fiber pills
75% diet
25% exercise (if that)

Best advice ever!
I'm on a diet, and this cracks me up. So true, so true.
