Anyone know why Morgan McDonald (Wisc) didn't compete in the 3000m at NCAAs?

Don't you mean: Wisconsin MIA at NCAA? Distance program is more or less nonexistent
Bump
Mick thought they should train through the week so they could get ready outdoor NCAA's.
Stress fracture in foot, came on just before Big 10s
Mick's guys seem to be banged up an awful lot.

And he still doubled him at Big 10? There's a coach that has the athletes interest at heart.

Or the athlete could have decided to wait till after conference to get it checked out.
If it came on just before the Big 10 meet, it is the coach's responsibility to check it out.
Red shirt him until he graduates please, he single handedly saved your job, now stop destroying him.

This.
Doubling a suspected stress fracture at conference meet so he can't run at NCAA's is simply poor coaching. Moreso, it can be the product of too much hard training as opposed to some 'off' races for fun (and breaking up training). I think Morgan ran one race before conference.
Protect your quarter back at all costs, just because you've sacrificed all your pawns doesn't mean it was time to sacrifice the king. Pure selfishness by the Badger coaching staff, they just ruined his track season and world champs qualification chances. But I'm sure you've still got a discus tosser or someone left who you haven't broken yet.
Is there a chance Mick and his underling are happy Morgan can't get a qualifier for Worlds and consider going pro before he gets some more conference points in track and cross country low stick? Same accusation leveled at Norte Dame staff last year and Siedell!!! Some truth?

Clearly they don't give a crap about the humans in their program. The recruitment advantages they've relied on for a long time is diminishing rapidly, the widow maker approach to training is obsolete.
Umm Morgan we think it's best for your long term development to focus on running minor races in tight circles on floorboards. Representing your country and competing against the best athletes on earth will hinder your progress. In the meantime get us some points, lots of them.
You all are delusional if you believe he would've been in the mix fighting for a world championship slot.
No chance to run 13:25?
Or finish inside top 50 world which in year after Olympics may very well be 13:30-low?
He's not one of the top three Aussies.
Yes much more difficult now that MTC are taking the tainted route.
Lol some of you guys have made some serious leaps in assumption here.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
