Current high school senior with very realistic goals of 1:57 4:17 9:12 this outdoor season. Had a flawless winter of 60 mpw with lifting and tempos/fartleks until this past Saturday when I started feeling not good. I ran 8 on Saturday but then Saturday night I threw up and then I threw up 6 times on Sunday and ended up losing 5 pounds. Stayed home on Monday and recovered. Woke up Tuesday morning and felt great, went to school, did a nice easy 5 mile run to get back into it. Then Wednesday rolled around and I started feeling bad by the end of the school day. It was only a headache so coach told me to do what a could. Ended up running 3 pretty slow. Came home, ate a little, then went to bed. Woke up this morning feeling terrible, decided to go into the doctor because I really had no idea what was wrong. He told me my body was in shock and I needed to rest and stay home until Monday. And then recommended not running until the following Monday. I know being healthy is important, but essentially taking 2 weeks off doesn't sound like it will go very well. Currently in bed with a fever of 100.2.
