lol
Salad Cream is salad dressing. If you don't know what Ginger Beer is you've led a sheltered life.
As with cottage pie and haggis, you probably don't want to know.
Ginger beer is something I have right now. I use it for mixed drinks like once a year. Salad cream? Well... I'm pretty sure that is the special ingredient to your salad when you are a dick.

Isn't ginger beer Jamaican?
Never had a Moscow Mule?
Salad cream is a poor man's mayonnaise. Seriously. It was introduced after WW2 when everyone was poor and was supposed to taste like mayo but with cheaper ingredients. We ate a fair amount of it when I was a kid. I liked it then but now think it quite disgusting.
If they have HP sauce give that a try. It goes really well on a bacon sandwich, much better than ketchup.

Jamaica was part of the British Empire so that might make sense.

To give you another example of how Britain has adopted food from its former colonies, Indian Curry is one of the most popular dishes in the U.K.

Oh I suppose. Of course I am familiar with ginger beer, I just thought it was a Caribbean thing. I live in London so foods from all over the world are common in supermarkets.
Don't they have ginger beer/ale in the US?

Yes.
They eat something called "spotted dick" which is some kind of pudding. Heinz sells it in cans.

I'd eat that too.
Ginger beer is in fact commonly available in the US (the "Jamaican" kind), and not normally considered "British" in any way. Schweppes ginger ale is very common and is kind of British but not really.

I would go crazy on that.
I'm drinking a ginger beer right now. I have one every evening. Not that different from ginger ale, but I prefer it.

These cans were labeled "FIREY". Does it have a "kick" like ginger ale, but bigger?
I woulda gotten one to try, but they were about 3x the price of soda (which I really don't drink, anyway), so I passed.
Kinda wish I had grabbed one to try, now.

Ginger beer is a lot more 'spicy' and strong flavoured than ale.
