I might be going there as my next assignment; anyone here been stationed there? How was it? With respect to running and to life in general. And I know it isn't New York City or Paris, so compared to other military bases.

I was stationed there from 1972 - 1975. 3/187th.
That's so long ago, that anything that was around then is probably no more!
Ft Campbell is the World's Toughest military base. Ft Campbell has the world's most awesome soldiers ever in the history of warfare.
Benning had better gentlemen's clubs.
Stationed there with Strike rom 2010-13. Go run down at Cav Country. Can easily run 10-12 miles down there and by doing just a couple loops. Stay away from C-Rays until right before you leave. They just opened a movie theater outside of Gate 7. Supposed to me nice. The black horse pub in downtown Clarksville is gonna be full officers, so watch who you hit on if you're enlisted. It's less than an hour to downtown Nashville. 90 mins to Evansville Indiana, probably the best kept secret about that place. In Evansville is a riverboat casino, college night life, pretty decent bars. In Clarksville there is a guy that drives drunks home from the bars in an old limo and tells you to pay him only what you want to pay. If you find this guy be good to him. Stay out of Hopkinsville. Trust me. LBL is fantastic for running, also for fishing, camping. The best BBQ joint is past Hopkinsville on the way to LBL. Beg your chain of command to send you to Air Assault school. It's the easiest school and an easy 10 points for promotion (assuming you are not an E6 already). Hope this helps. I'd go back any time.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
