Hey there,
I've been reading some posts and decided to do one to get some needed help.
With 17/18 yo was doing around 60km(35miles)/week and focusing on the 1500m.
Main structure was 2 track sessions/week, a 60-75min longer run and 1 rest day . Other runs were around 40min long.
Specific workouts included hills, track sessions and fartleks.
Before that i just played soccer/football.
That year i ran:
800m-1:59
1500m-4:08 (done more 3 around 4:09-4:10)
Mile- 4:30
3000m-9:10
(i definitely missed some endurance and km's)
I've kept running the last 2 years but haven't done nothing special.
Iam now 21 and trying to go sub 9min/3km around April/May while being able to do some 5k/10k races meanwhile.
I increased my mileage to 75km(45 miles)/ week.
Some Workout examples i've done in the past months:
8x500m- 1'28 avg. with 75'' interval (alone)
6x1000m- 3'06 avg. with last 2'59 with 3' interval (with company)
12x400m- 68'' avg. with 75'' interval (with company)
6x1000m- 3'15 avg. with 90'' interval (alone)
(much more harder when I was on my own)
Yesterday did 10km race in 34' low
Looking for some suggestions/thoughts on mileage, type of workouts, rest and how to improve my "speed endurance".
Some workouts I've thought include 3-6x1000m, 6-8x600m, 4-6x800m, 12-15x400m and 20x200m, but not sure about times and rest.
Sorry for the poor english and thanks for your time.
