800s starting with a 2(men or women) are unimpressive
It was discussed yesterday. Anyway, she lost some credibility from the reports of her 4 mile tempos which were faster than her 5K PR pace.
Why did t you comment on the thread that was already started about her time trial?

3. It was 3 seconds slower than her PR
she often overtrains in the winter and peters out by champiionshop season. this is probably a bad sign.

yeah peters out by championship season except when she...
makes 2 WC teams
medals at a WC
and makes an Olympic team
yeah that petering out by championship season
What was said in the other thread? Is she racing indoors? Is this to judge her current fitness, and where to tweak the training?
Handler was talking on the video. The 2:00 is off strength work, only 2 speed workouts so far.
"800 Metres Performance2:00.14 Wind PlaceNew York (Armory), NY Date20 FEB 2016

No, they were not faster than her 5k PR pace.
2:00 is like 1:46 for males. Who cares
At Rio 2016 Hinriksdottir of Iceland broke her national record (again) with 2:00.14, but did not advance because 2:00:00 was the 24th spot.
I'm not sure why Martinez' time is supposed to be impressive, she wouldn't have gotten out of the first round at the Olympics.

She posted about one 4 mile "anaerobic" tempo so basically a race effort not in a race.
McMillan calculator says a 2:00 800 is equal to a 20:06 4 mile. Sounds to me like her times are right in line with what's being reported.

2:00 for a woman is like 1:48-49 for a man... Stop with that bullsh@t! 2 flat is mad slow for a woman!
Do people actually still end statements with "yo", and use "mad" adjectively in that way?

You definitely didn't break 2 in high school and are still bitter about it

Because it is off strength, not intervals. It's a starting point.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
