Just saw a press release in our local paper about a new coast-to-coast (3,067 miles) running record of 42 days, six hours and 30 minutes by Pete Kostelnick of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Apparently, it broke the previous record of 46 days set in 1980.
Any reason to dispute this claim?

That's only 3 mph avg. You could sleep walk across the country, no running needed LOL. Or you can sleep 8 hours per night and then power walk at 4.5 mph avg speed for the remaining 16 hours. Doesn't seem that hard. Just keep moving while you're awake.
It's still 73 miles a day. Seems like a heavy load to keep up for that long.
