Long story short -- I'm a student at a large state school who just moved off campus this year, and I've gotten stuck in a horrible apartment. Dirty carpet, terrible landlords, constant construction all around, and just yesterday, I caught two large rats in my kitchen.
The rats were the last straw -- I'm going find my roommates a subleaser and dish out some cash for a more expensive apartment. I'm wondering if these rodent issues are an explanation for the running malaise I've experienced since starting school in September. Dying on workouts, awful races, constant fatigue, dreading even the easiest runs. I had chalked it up to overtraining and took a few days off, to no effect. But I now wonder if the real cause was presence of the disgusting, diseased rodents. Can I expect my running life to bounce back when I move to a cleaner environment?
(Sorry for the poor writing, I crashed at a friend's last night and couldn't sleep a wink)
