Probably right, and also one of the most bada$$ dudes of all effing time!
He looked like a rock star after crossing the line, people clustered around him, waiting to take selfies with him.
Crowd went crazy when he finished and emcee announced it was a world record. Boy, a ton of folks where sprinting that last 400 to finish ahead of him.

Ed recovered easily from the marathon. This was his best race all year.
It looks like he is now ready to break all the 2016 World Records he already set this year…again.
What is the next race on the Ed Whitlock 2016 World Record Tour?

Poor effort, you need to also list what the record time was that Ed broke.
that makes two of us...

Thanks for responding. Awesome to see a legend on the boards. You are one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back to this website.

Take that Martin Rees.[/quote]
A couple of things.
;The 7:18 mile time almost certainly will not be ratified, it was on a dirt track and curbs may not meet specs. I ran a 7:22 and thought that everything was in order but it has not been ratified either.
The 10k record wiil also be negated because a modification to the certified course was made on the day.
If Martin Rees can stay healthy I think he will take down my road records between 5k and half marathon.
Ed
Ed, you are an inspiration and a lesson in the benefits of slow, gentle training coupled with patience and persistence in achieving magnificent goals. Your methods reflect your gentleman's demeanor and warrior's strength of will. An iron fist in the velvet glove. Thank you.
That was a great 15K race Ed.
Have you ever heard of Phil Maffetone?
(He has copied the Ed Whitlock Training Method™…and named it after himself. I am not very happy about it.)
I am also not happy about the non-ratification of your mile World Records.
Everything seemed fine at the time:

It is not that big of a deal since your 1500m time is equivalent to a 7:13 mile and your 3000m time is equivalent to a sub 7:00 mile.
You can easily smash the mile World Record later this year…or in early 2017.
Then I can start the 2017 Ed Whitlock World Record list.
