Why are they wearing each others party's colors?
Why are they wearing each others party's colors?
Trump is wearing a flag, Clinton is not.

It's not each party's colors. The Red/Blue state thing is a recent concoction by the liberal media. Isn't it obvious that Dem states should be Red States? The liberal media wanted to distance themselves from the obvious negative connection so they mad the GOP the Red States.
Everywhere else in the world, Blue = Right, Red = Left.
But in US, big media (Democrats) didn't like the fact that Red was Sino-Soviet connotation, so chose to switch colors in electoral maps some years ago.
I think red and blue became defined in the 2000 election.
^^^^
The color coding we're familiar with today didn't stick until the iconic (and extremely lengthy) election of 2000, when The New York Times and USA Today published their first full-color election maps. The Times spread used red for Republicans because "red begins with r, Republican begins with r," said the senior graphics editor Archie Tse, "it was a more natural association." The election, which didn't end until mid-December, firmly established Democrats as the blue party and Republicans as the red — denotations which will likely hold fast for some time to come.
I thought Hillary's red suit was pretty hideous, but someone pointed out that the stage background was blue, so...there you go.

I still remember the county by county map in the NYT.
Almost all USA was red (Bush), except for big city blotches, and a few northeastern and pacific spots.
Trump wore a blue tie. A red tie would have clashed with his orange face.

Yes, Royalists the world over use Red as their political colour of choice.

So "D" is blue? It's a natural association?
Wrong. They didn't want to put the Democrats red because of the obvious association to their closest political allies, Russia and China.
Reds = Communism. Always has been.
Too ignorant to red the full post? The NYT art people selected red because if associates with Republican. What primary color begins with D in your basement world?
Dark Red
(like the Dark Internet)
Solid political analysis, OP.

You don't know what a primary color is. Typical Trump fan.

Only the NYT determined that. There is nothing about Red that associates itself to "Republican".
Red does associate itself with communism and leftist politics. Democrats should be red not blue.
