Sometimes its harder to not do this.

if its liquid. Solid turds I say no.
I don't know if it is possible to take a dump while running a race without stopping.
Since being in a race is part of the question, I have to assume that you would only want to do so to save the time needed to take the dump.
If you desperately need to take a dump, holding it in will affect your running ability and time way more than the time needed to stop and take a dump. That means taking the dump is a must.
If you choose to take the dump without stopping, one would think that the discomfort and disgust of having the dump remain in your shorts would affect your running ability and time way more than the time needed to stop and take a dump.
Should that scenario ever present itself, my advice is to stop and take the dump. If you really, really need to go, chances are you will quickly blast it out, therefore the time you're actually stopped will be minimal.
Good luck, and please, no pics of either scenario.
I mean honestly unless you're in contention for a gold medal or some serious prize money I can't imagine it's worth crapping yourself. It's just a sport for crying out loud. It's supposed to be done for fun.
Not sure about not stopping, but

Wow. I honestly can't tell sometimes if these replies are real, or if people on here just have no shame.
Hopefully this doesn't need to be said but when one chooses to take a dump without stopping you obviously use a free hand to adjust your shorts, making sure that it does not land in your shorts but instead falls out. I have to question the upbringing of those of you who supposedly choose to just let it sit in the shorts.
People consider "Professional wrestlers" (Professional Actors) as athletes? That's funny.

What do you mean that you can't tell if these replies are real? Why would you question my comments and advice?
Remember, the premise of the original question was whether or not you could take a dump while continuing to run. There is no way one could continue to run while pulling their shorts to the side far enough for a dump to fall out as you suggested. It is impossible. I tried, twice. Therefore one either leaves the dump in their shorts or stops to take the dump.
There was a fast (16:40 on the roads) lady here locally who had diarrhea during a race and I can never look at her without thinking taht.

Best reply. This is the key to minimal stoppage time.

Pics?
Tommy Persson did it when he won the Stockholm marathon. He just told the runners behind him to watch out, pulled down the shorts a little and did it.
