So I started running again after taking 8 years off (basically to party, get addicted to drugs, and get sober)...anyway I'm back at it again. I'm 27 now and have been running every day since end of May. I was up to about 60 plus mpw and going about 12-14 on my long days. I did a time trial on the track for the mile and ran a 4:45. So my first question is what should a realistic marathon goal time for me be?....OK second question. About two weeks ago on a 10 mile run I noticed my left achilles was getting tight about 5 miles in but not a lot of pain so I kept running. By mile 9 it was almost unbearable but I finished the run. The next day I could barley even walk on it. So I've taken about 2 weeks off from running and the pain while walking went away. I did a 2 mile run today and noticed the tightness again towards the end of my run. Need advice on recovery? I'm frustrated and just want to get back to training asap!
