NFL is a business. Wins are blah. Do fans rush the field to celebrate an NFL victory? even an upset? against a rival? in a Super Bowl? Of course not. NFL is blah.
College football is where it's at. Live it up, Austin. Live it up.
Great game, 50/47 in double ot. Bittersweet after a 5win season a year ago including a 38-3 loss to notre dame for the Longhorns. They are very much improved offensively.

(Sorry to be redundant.)
No.
They do not rush fields in NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and any other respectable sport.

Don't get me started with the student bands and their "fight songs"

I bet Vince Lombardi was a blast at parties.
NFL games are meaningless. Twice, a Super Bowl champion has won it all with 6 regular season losses. Six. Recently, an NFL team made the playoffs with a 7-9 losing record. Nine losses. Meh.
College football hinges on every game. Lose one single game and your season is nearly over.
Great game. Texas had a huge lead, then blew it and thought they would go home devastated. Then scored a late TD to go up by 2, only to have it blow up in their face with the PAT blocked and run back for 2 against them to tie it. Then finally winning it in double OT. Great game. Big upset.

Thank you for naming a few of the reasons that a college football game is a clearly better event than the NFL. The passion, the fans and the overall atmosphere is unmatched by any other sport/league in the US. High level European club soccer is the only other sport worldwide that can compete on those metrics.

Not really an upset at all. Notre dame was favoured by 4 points and a lot of experts picked Texas, as they seemed to have made significant changes and improvements in the offseason while the Irish regressed. I think the surprise was how good both teams looked offensively. Kizer is the real deal at qb for the Irish and Texas utilized backup qb swoopes well, while their freshman starter impressed with his poise and play.

High level European club soccer are also known for throwing bananas onto the field.
Unless you are a 18-19 year old girl college football "fan", then please act like an adult.
This whining is why most of the country roots against ND.

And have you ever considered this?
For the Super Bowl- the most important game of the season- they change the freaking rules.
More commercials (because, face it, about 1/2 the tv audience is watching it for the commercials) and they lengthen half time to out on a really bad concert!
Hey! It's the Olympic Marathon let's have Beyonce perform when they get to 1/2 way!!! Maybe people will watch!!!
The NFL is a joke and it's about the show.
College and high school football are the best!
Another bitter Notre Dame fan who only pulls for them because he's A) Catholic, B) has some trace of Irish blood or C) didn't get off the bandwagon in time. Very doubtful that you actually went there or go there.

They were already home.
The good news is Notre Dame lost.
The bad news is Texas didn't lose.
The should rename this series the Prima Donna Bowl.
No, not the superbowl, just a regular old game. Maybe they're practicing though. Almost half of D1 teams will win a bowl game. Almost half of D1 teams will be bowl game runner ups. D1 athletes are cry baby participant trophy likers who have to believe they are close to being winners for their own ego.

Sorry to hear your girlfriend left you a football player.

I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
