Any way you look at it, the man is a legend. Legendary status is not something Centro has (yet?) achieved in my opinion.

Leo is the epitome of the American dream, he is the nicest runners I've ever met. Nothing but best wishes for Leo in his future!!!

Seems like a great guy. I've never met him, but when I read his FB posts, it always just seems like his biggest goals in running are to inspire others, and to be a positive representative of the communities that he's a part of. Seems like a guy whose ego takes a back seat to his desire to have a positive impact on others. Also wishing Leo the best.

For at least a decade the first name I look for in meet results is

"Manzano" Absolutely my favorite runner. No bullshit, no chest beating, no childish antics at the finish. Class.

It would be even cooler if he could jump over Kiprop a la Spud Webb (5-7 46" vert) and Mugsey Bogues (5-3 44" vert)

You can't teach small.

Manzano is the epitome of a championship racer. He will look awful all season finishing last or close to it in every race, but when it comes time to race for a medal he is suddenly a totally different runner.

I've always been a fan of Leo but I was very happy to see who I believe the legitimate top 3 1500M men are in the U.S. qualify for Rio.

Won't be a surprise to see him represent the Mexican flag at the next Olympics if age starts to catch up with him.

His streak of top threes at US champs was among the great feats of American distance running, and this for a guy who sometimes has breathing problems at races and you never know what kind of performance he'll have outside the championships. Nothing but class in the post-race interview. It sounds like, given his series of injuries and illnesses, as well as mourning and a coaching change, that this was pretty incredible to run 3:36 here and just out of a spot on the team.

Wrong. Manzano is proud of his Mexican heritage, but he is prouder to be an American. La Raza he's not.
