There was a hilarious video linked on LR a few years ago that showed the end of a women's NCAA XC race that looked like a scene from a war movie with women going down all over the place and bodies strewn about the finish area. Anyone have the link to this? I think it's all the evidence we need to answer this question.

You're thinking of confirmation bias. Observer bias only occurs if the researcher is influencing the outcome of an experiment. Unless you think the OP is pushing women over at the end of races, I don't think this is what you mean.
